Nearly 600 employees will provide more than 3,500 hours of service this week
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC invites media to join nearly 600 of its employees as they create life-changing experiences with 11 North Texas nonprofits during the seventh annual Week of Caring. From Sept. 16 through Sept. 20, 2019, Texas-based employees will step away from their desks and volunteer by stocking food and preparing meals for hungry families and their pets; building and creating welcoming environments for families in transition; rejuvenating immersive learning tools; and much more.
Part of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services’ robust, year-round commitment to community engagement, each project selected for Week of Caring is focused on social responsibility in the areas of arts and culture; community enhancement; diversity and inclusion; and education.

Community Food Bank
Aiming to fight hunger for North Texas families, volunteers will spend two days organizing, sorting and distributing food to help those in need.
Dwell with Dignity
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will provide hands-on support to help transform the lives of families in the community by volunteering at the warehouse. Projects will include creating art, refurbishing furniture, sanding and painting furniture and assisting with other projects for future home installations.
Tarrant Area Food Bank
In addition to helping sort, inspect and repackage donated food, more than 40 Mercedes-Benz Financial Services employees will also be painting custom bowls for the Empty Bowls fundraiser.
Trinity Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers will work together all week to build a home to help a single mother and her three children living in the Carver Heights East Neighborhood.
ACH Child & Family Services
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will participate in a summer clean-up by washing the organization’s cars, deep cleaning the living facilities and helping beautify the community garden.
Volunteers will spend a week helping prepare thousands of snack packs and basic hygiene kits to help meet the needs of children, families and senior citizens faced with economic hardship. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will also provide support at the sorting warehouse to help organize donated items.
SafeHaven of Tarrant County
More than 30 helping hands will volunteer to improve and update the residential facilities to help create a holistic shelter to provide care for the victims of domestic violence.
Don’t Forget to Feed Me
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services volunteers will sort, package and distribute food for pets throughout Tarrant County for Don’t Forget to Feed Me, the only social service agency in the DFW Metroplex focused solely on assisting pet owners with pet food.
Kids Against Hunger
More than 80 volunteers will work together to package close to 36,000 meals for starving children and their families across North Texas. This particular project will be taking place at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services’ new Fort Worth Business Center.
Meals on Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
Volunteers will create “Client Survival Kits” to help those in need throughout Tarrant County. Packages will include water bottles, lip balm, writing tablets, pens, lotion and peppermints. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will also participate in meal deliveries to the homebound, elderly and disabled citizens throughout the region.
Approximately 50 volunteers from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will rejuvenate the garden at Harmony Science Academy, which used to be a Minyard Food Store, to create a reimagined outdoor classroom. Volunteers will help lay sod, plant perennials and herbs, and build and paint benches. Additionally, they will install learning features such as bird houses, a root viewer, thermostats and white boards to help engage students and create experiential activities. Uniquely located at the renovated grocery store, the Harmony Science Academy is a public charter school with an emphasis on college preparation and teaching economically disadvantaged students the importance of science, technology, engineering and math.
