Mercedes-Benz Financial Services has been recognized by Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine as one of the 100 Best Workplaces For Millennials in the U.S. for the second consecutive year. The company was ranked number 36 out of more than 600 Great Place to Work-Certified organizations. Rankings are based entirely upon the feedback of more than 88,000 millennials through an anonymous survey administered by the workplace culture experts at Great Place to Work.

“Our corporate culture is built upon our core values, which inspires openness and trust and encourages employees of every age and tenure to play an active role in creating a great work environment,” Peter Zieringer , President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA. “We are proud to be recognized as a great workplace for millennial employees because we believe a work environment that empowers all employees enables us to attract top talent and deliver outstanding service to our dealers and customers.”

To determine the list, millennial employees born 1981 or later rated their organizations on 58 workplace quality questions. Among many factors, employees considered the sincerity of managers’ support for people’s personal and professional lives, transparency of communication, people’s ability to be themselves at work and the meaning they get from their jobs, among many other factors. Millennials’ anonymous responses resulted in a total score for each company, which was compared to the benchmark for organizations of that size. Companies needed to employ at least 50 millennials and achieve a 95 percent confidence level, with a margin of error of 5 percent or less in order to be eligible.

“Statistics estimate that by 2030, the millennials will make up 75 percent of the workforce, so cultivating an environment that supports all generations, but is also attractive to the unique millennial generation, is very important to us as a company,” noted Mary Hughes, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. “We accomplish this by embracing the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of all employees and facilitating challenging, fulfilling career paths and a broad range of opportunities for development.”

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services supports its employees by offering a variety of opportunities and benefits, including:

  • Opportunities for training and continuing education that support career development and growth
  • Work/life balance perks including flexible work arrangements, casual dress-code policy and onsite services such as chair massage, organic food delivery, and shoe repair
  • The opportunity to spend two paid workdays each year volunteering in the communities where employees live and work
  • Mercedes-Benz employee lease and Drive a Star Home programs that allow employees to drive and experience current model products

“There is a special homelike atmosphere here and employees are valued and empowered to make a difference,” said Sascha Kiehne, Dealer Credit Analyst for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, and chair of the company’s millennials business networking group in the
U.S. “I feel like my work is meaningful and I have a sense of accomplishment every day that my contributions positively impact the company and make a difference for our customers.”
